Alex and I used Simon Miller's To the Strongest rules to play a War of the Roses game.

Alex was able to win this game despite not having played before. He is looking forward to the fantasy version of the rules later in the year. The next day we played the board game that Alex game me for Christmas, Twilight Struggle
An outstanding game that covers the whole of the Cold War in detail. Lots to think about and strong on Historical accuracy. I had to use all of my detailed knowledge of teaching a course on the Cold War to defeat Alex. I don't think he will be as kind to me next time
