Sand Everywhere

Earlier in the week I managed to get a game in with Norsey Gamer. As we had not used the IABSM rules for quite a while we decided upon a game set in North Africa. Steve D has blogged this extensively over on Norsygamer so I only intend to put up the best of my pictures and a short note on each one.
British Blind ready to start the game.
Pushing forward with care. I should have continued in this vein!
Tanks in good order before the Italians get stuck in.
Italian anti-tank crew ready for action
One tank down!
Another British Tank out of action.
Another falls foul of another anti-tank gun peeping out from behind the rocks
The number of British tanks damaged or destroyed continue to rise.
Many of the Italians and German forces remain on blinds
In the end the British forces led by me cut there losses and move back to Cairo to regroup.

A Seven Years War Battle

Today was another club day and a game had been put together by Rafael and Allan using their superb collections of figures of the Seven Years War Period. Rafael did give the battle a name but I missed it. I am sure someone will supply the info. The game consisted of two roads upon which a Russian and Prussian forces were advancing with the hope of out-flanking each other.
A small village could be seen at the far end of the table.
A view of the Russian advanced guard which consisted of a brigade of heavy cavalry. These were led by myself to no great distinction as will be seen later
The Prussian Hussars had advanced faster than us and here they are galloping down towards the Russians strung out along the road.
The two parallel lines of troops can be seen clearly here.
The Russian Dragoons look to be in trouble as the Prussian light cavalry close upon them
Other uinits of Prussian Dragoons are behind them
 The Russian Brigade Commander
The Russian Dragoons have managed to shake themselves into line.
Two units of Russians will charge one unit of Prussian Hussars
 The cavalry clash head on
Some good dice thrown by me!
The Prussian Hussars retreat out of range.
However the Prussian Dragoons are now massing for an attack.
Bob getting them ready to charge
One Russian and two Prussian regiments charge each other
The Russian Horse Grenadiers are too far away to help. The Russians flee the field.
Meanwhile the Russian Grenadier Brigade advance smartly.
 There look a formidable force
The Russian Commander has also arrived.
Another cavalry battle with two regiments a side involved this time.
The Prussian Infantry are now beginning to deploy
Bob feels the game is going his way!
More Russians are on the way
The two Prussian Infantry lines are now in place to begin to advance
Allan sees the problems
The cavalry continue to slog it out
The Russian grenadiers are ready for a fight.
The Russian cavalry are heading for the rear.
A depleted Prussian cavalry force are following them.
The Russian defense in depth
An overview of the game at about 2.00 pm
The Prussian Infantry begin their advance
Prussian and Russian Commanders can still discuss things in a reasoned and calm manner over a cup of tea.
More Prussian cavalry have arrived
They can be seen here moving into position behind their Infantry
View of the game as it draws to a conclusion
More Russians still arriving
A view from the Russian side.
Some of Allan's excellent figures. Very helpful advice given to me about painting faces!
A view from behind the Russian lines
Prussian Cavalry can be seen crossing the high ground
One of the Russian Commanders
A very good game that had a lot of us taking part during the day. Many thanks to Allan and Rafael for all the work put into the figures and the game.
